Privacy Policy

Hickory is an invite-only network for golfers. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it. The short version: we collect what the product needs to work, we don't sell it, and you can delete everything yourself, in the app, at any time.
What we collect
Account: email address, name, password (stored as a cryptographic hash), and an optional phone number.
Profile: handicap, city, home club, club memberships, bio, and an optional photo — whatever you choose to add.
Golf activity: rounds you log, ratings, reviews, lists, wishlists, groups, trips, and messages you send to other members.
Contacts (optional): if you use "Find friends from your contacts," phone numbers from your address book are matched against member phone numbers to show you who's already on Hickory. Contact data is used only for matching and is not stored as your address book.
Location (optional): if you grant location access, your approximate location is used to show courses near you. We do not track or store a history of your movements.
Device: a push-notification token if you enable notifications, and basic product analytics (which features are used, e.g. "a round was logged") tied to your account so we can improve the app.
What we use it for
Running the product: showing your profile and activity to other members, connecting you with members who can host you, sending notifications you've enabled, and improving the app. That's it.
What we share
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers. Your profile and golf activity are visible to other approved members inside the app — that's the point of a members' network. We use a small set of service providers to run the product (database and authentication hosting, push-notification delivery, and Apple's app platform), each bound to processing data only on our behalf.
Deleting your data
In the app: Profile → Edit profile → Delete account. This permanently and immediately erases your account, profile, rounds, reviews, lists, clubs, messages, and device tokens. You can also email us (below) and we'll do it for you.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Email us and we'll honor it.
Children
Hickory is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll notify members in the app before the change takes effect.
